New Radisson Blu oozes sophistication with a local twist
Towering above the city, the new Radisson Blu Hotel and Residence Cape Town stands majestic and proud – an iconic architectural facade immersed in historical significance as it overlooks the CBD.
Driven by innovation and design, the hotel is fresh, dynamic and quintessentially African in its modern interpretation of the city and emphasis on local design which is clearly infused into every detail.
The hotel – currently the highest residential building in the Mother City – has won several awards for its architectural design. It is Carlson Rezidor’s 10th hotel in operation in South Africa. From the grandeur of the entrance lobby with oversized copper chain chandeliers, to the beautifully intricate geometric tiled foyer – the entrance is both welcoming and luxurious – a bustling meeting point for travellers, locals and industry professionals alike.
Inspired by the ocean and Cape Town’s intrinsic connection to nature and the elements, the hotel with all 214 rooms, is tastefully decked out in deep blues, greys and neutral tones. Each luxury bedroom is similar but unique in shape and design and yet the tranquillity of the ocean is carried throughout. A feature wall in each room is reminiscent of the ocean’s waves while lush carpets and art on the walls further hint at the many tones and movements of the sea. Crisp white linen, pristine furnishings and silver bedframes ensure that the rooms provide a calming environment – the perfect place to unwind during a stay in a busy metropolitan city. With state-of-the-art amenities including an extravagant executive business lounge, a range of contemporary meeting and conference rooms, and a fully-kitted gym boasting amazing mountain and sea views, there is much to admire in every space within the hotel. Two of our favourite spots include the hotel’s signature restaurant, The Stratus Room, with its theatrical approach to service, as well as the rooftop pool bar and terrace. Both are ideal venues for anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of Cape Town’s streets. Property Manager, Desmond O’Connor explains that the Radisson Blu Hotel and Residence Cape Town aims to provide its guests with a world-class hospitality experience. “Our guests’ comfort is our number one priority, and we look forward to welcoming them to Cape Town’s newest and most contemporary hotel property.”
