Plascon House Tour: A Home close to Nature
Creating a feeling of harmony and mindfulness is what led these homeowners towards the creation of this natural abode in Sweden. With a focus on natural materials and calming tones, this home feels organic and one with nature.
We love the soft colours that are used in every room of the house. Natural timber is used throughout, from raw wooden built-in cupboards, to wooden flooring and furniture. All seem to flow together beautifully, adding to the tranquility that is ever-present in the interior of this residence. Beige is far from boring, and without overpowering the space, the colours seem to blend together, leading you from one room to the next. Uniform full-length drapes can be seen all around, and add a sense of casual elegance and texture to the rooms. We love the unique feature lighting fixtures in the kitchen and living area.
A very contemporary shaped light fitting can be seen above the dining room table while the living area near the fireplace boasts a unique oversized light reminiscent of a chinese lantern. Similarly, the kitchen showcases a pair of fan-like pendants above the countertops. Although different in form, all these light fittings work together beautifully, all joined by the choice of colour – pure white. A massive area rug in the living room serves as a statement piece here. Imagine cosying up in this area on a cold winter’s night, with a fire blazing nearby! Casual splendour and comfort are the order of the day in this minimalist interior living space. There is no art of decoration on the walls. Instead, the beautiful furniture and fixtures are the emphasis here. Perfect in true simplicity. Even the bedroom is beautifully serene in neutral tones that further suggest a closeness to nature.
