Igneous Reinvents Iconic Durban Promenade
The rejuvenation of the Durban promenade attracts hundreds of cyclists, runners and lovers of this coast every weekend. The Sun Coast Casino has in turn undertaken upgrades including the installation of new bollards and the custom design of two seating options, one that includes cut-outs for use as bicycle stands.
The brilliant white and art decor like detail match the iconic style of this entertainment and leisure facility. Igneous went all out with the revamp which included outdoor furniture items such as IGNF043 Platform Bench; IGNF044 Platform Seater and IGNS011 Platform Bollard.
To the right of the uShaka Marine World extends Point Promenade. And in the backdrop Moses Mabhida Stadium. Says the team from Igneous, “It’s been a privilege to be part of the upgrade and development of this part of Durban, from our work at the stadium in 2009 and the recent installations on the promenade. This especially as our factory is based in Durban and produces proudly South African installations. We look forward to taking new images once all work is complete and open to the public. Thanks to Iyer Urban Design for entrusting us with both projects.”
Their installations include oversized custom square planters in bone; custom sized rectangular seaters in milkwood; external bins in onyx; and traffic bollards in midnight. #igneous_concrete #polyconcrete #concrete #concretedesign #concreteseating #concreteplanters #hardlandscaping #promenade #proudlysouthafrican
