Plascon House Tour: An Old Artist’s Loft
Beautiful in monochrome, today’s Parisian loft is a former art studio converted into a stylish retreat in shades of white and grey. The overall look is modern and crisp with an eclectic arrangement of furniture in similar muted tones to complement the overall look of minimalism and simplicity.
We love the high ceilings, complemented by a sea of windows extending all the way up the exterior wall of the living space, giving us a glimpse of the outside world. This also makes for a wonderfully bright and functional space – the ideal spot for modern living. A few vintage tables and distressed sideboard add to the mix of furniture in this area – creating a sense of richness and charm here. A full-length one-wall kitchen works wonderfully here to maximise the space and we love the deep grey shade of paint that sets the kitchen space apart from the rest of the apartment. A one-wall kitchen is ideal in an open plan loft environment as it provides space for all the appliances, utensils and kitchen necessities in easy reach, along one wall, and one string of accessible cabinets. A few prominent pillars help to open up the loft space and create that all-important structural shape of the room. A modern metallic black stairwell leads up to the second level of this converted abode. In the lounge area, a few couches are placed together to demarcate the space as an area for relaxation and lounging. We love the collection of industrial pendants above the coffee table, for added light in this space. This section of the loft has no natural light so the added illumination is a welcome addition to this space. We see the designers have maximised lighting here and have also brought in a freestanding table lamp for added glow, as well as an arrangement of mirrors on the wall for reflected light throughout this open plan space. The double volume space is magical with windows that stretch across both floors of the home. A railed balcony area overlooks the central living room and beautiful skylight windows add a vibrant, light and modern ambience to this home. Contact: Plascon Via
