THE SHOP: A Sculptural Showcase at 3 Days of Design

Last week, THE SHOP—a 110 sqm pop-up store located in the heart of Copenhagen—emerged as a standout feature during 3 Days of Design. Situated on Møntergade, the temporary space invited visitors to engage with the studio’s latest innovations, offering a curated preview of upcoming launches across lighting, furniture, accessories, and textiles.

The immersive installation featured new arrivals from AW25, including lighting novelties like WHIRL, SOFT, and PRESS FROSTED, which had just debuted in Milan. It also offered a glimpse into the SS26 collection, which includes expanded GROOVE outdoor furniture, new JACK and POSE lighting formats, and fresh additions to the studio’s accessory and textile ranges.

Founder Tom Dixon shared insight into the concept behind THE SHOP:

“The Emperor Napoleon famously described the British as ‘a nation of shopkeepers’ – and we all know what happened next! We’re proud to embrace this description as we launch THE SHOP, a temporary, optimally sized city-centre store that reflects our ongoing international expansion. Identical boutiques are opening in New York, Sydney, and Taipei over the next three months. After all, who doesn’t love shopping?”

Lighting Innovations Take Centre Stage

The studio’s lighting designs for AW25 and SS26 introduced a bold new era of sculptural expression:

• WHIRL, influenced by the Op Art movement, plays with mirrored spirals to create hypnotic optical illusions.

• SOFT casts a warm, diffused glow, inspired by the gentle curvature of a partially formed celestial body.

• PRESS FROSTED adds a new translucent matte finish to the iconic PRESS collection, softening its bold, industrial profile.

• POSE expands with SURFACE and PENDANT formats in three colourways—Silver, Kelp, and Putty.

Tactile Additions to the Accessories Range

The Copenhagen showcase also marked the launch of a new textile collection, designed to elevate interiors through rich materiality and subtle colour:

• RIDGE Cushions

• THREAD Cushions and Throws

• BAND Throws

In parallel, the SPIN series received a vibrant refresh. The SPIN MINI now comes in Black, Blue, and Putty, while SPIN LARGE is available in Black and Putty—extending the kinetic elegance of this sculptural collection.

As part of the SS26 updates, a deep Indigo finish joins the best-selling TANK family, available in Stem, Medium, and Large. In the accessories category, PRESS now features a frosted, sand-blasted finish, offering a tactile counterpoint to the glass’s bold geometry.

Outdoor Icons: JACK and GROOVE

Two outdoor pieces made their highly anticipated debut:

• The JACK light—originally designed in 1994—returns in a portable, IP65-certified outdoor version. Rechargeable, stackable, and lightweight, it emits a soft, matte glow for up to eight hours.

• The GROOVE furniture line expands with a round table and lounge chair, available in Putty and Moss—reinforcing the studio’s commitment to refined, sculptural outdoor living.

With THE SHOP, the studio successfully merged commerce with curation, reflecting not only its expanding global footprint but also its commitment to evolving material exploration and human-centred design.
