Heavenly Holophane Lights By The Lighting Warehouse
The stunning newly launched holophane range of glass pendants from The Lighting Warehouse will add a touch of old-world glamour and style to any room they grace.
“Holophane” is the term used to describe clear moulded glass shades with parallel or crosscut prism designs. Originally popular between the 1890s and 1950s, holophane lights are superb examples of mid-twentieth century industrial art.
Says Melissa Davidson from leading lighting supplier, The Lighting Warehouse: “The crisp, clean lines of the glass shades offer a wonderfully textured visual appeal when the lights are switched off. However, it is when these fittings are illuminated that you can really appreciate the beauty of holophane lights – as you will see why the word ‘prismatic’ was often interchanged with ‘holophane’.”
The Lighting Warehouse has recently launched two ranges of holophane glass pendants, which include:
The Heritage holophane pendant lights, which are available in either Antique Brass (code: 19439AB) or Satin Silver (19439SS) and retail for R1 499,95 each.
The Detroit X range of holophane lights is also available in Satin Silver or Antique Brass, and comprise:
• The Detroit X 3-light cross bar light fitting (Satin Silver: 18719 SG, Antique Brass: 18719BG) retails for R3 399,95.
• The Detroit X single light wall light (Satin Silver: 21474SG, Antique Brass: 21474BG) retails for R649,95.
