It’s getting hot in here.
The team from Easylife Kitchens, SA’s leading kitchen, bathroom vanities, built-in cupboards (BIC), bar and bedroom storage designer, installer and manufacturer, shares the hottest kitchen design trends for 2023.
Metro tiles
Kitchen splashbacks are making a huge comeback this year! The difference is that matte finishes are easing their way out to say hello to gleaming tiles. What makes this trend even more exciting is that glossy tiles are so much easier to clean. Rectangular tiles in the metropolitan design will create the perfect trendy kitchen.
Sunny kitchens
Natural lighting is everything in 2023. Think large windows and light pipes above the kitchen space for extra light, sun, and warmth. Natural lighting is much more inviting than artificial lighting and can even make the space feel bigger. It also creates a visual connection with nature, so pop a pot plant on your kitchen counter or kitchen shelves!
Cabinet designs
Cabinet design can look forward to two main designs: flat-fronted cabinets that have attention-grabbing handles or the minimalist style, comprising fewer cabinet knobs and pulls.
Metal elements
Marble-like elements and wood will become must-haves in your kitchen! With this being said, you should not overlook the importance of metals, which go hand in hand to create a beautiful harmony of textures. The colours seen in metal and wood provide a perfect contrast and add some warmth to surfaces that are on the cooler side. For a more modern design, opt for copper accents.
Kitchen Wallpaper
This may not be everyone’s cup of tea but wallpaper in your kitchen is trendy! Wallpaper, including tropical artwork and floral prints, will be the first choice while other artworks that present the natural world will also be used, such as flowers, twigs, fruits, and vegetables. If your current kitchen style is vintage or industrial, then you should pick lighter, simpler wallpaper designs.
