Feel Like A Pro With These 10 Kitchen Hacks

  1. Disinfect Cleaning Cloths And Sponges

Image: : imgs.6sqft.com   Since bacteria thrive in moist, dark places, your kitchen cloths and sponges can easily become breeding grounds for them if they’re not regularly disinfected. Luckily there’s a quick and easy way to keep your cloths and sponges bacteria- free. Simply wet them, place them in the microwave for about a minute, and then take them out once they have started steaming. The microwave’s heat will instantly kill all bacteria and sanitise your cleaning equipment.

2. Peel Egg Shells Off Easily Image: lifeyourway.net   Why spend time peeling egg shells when there’s a kitchen hack to help the shells slide off easily? Just add ½ teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda to your pot of eggs and watch as the shells slip right off once they’ve been boiled.

3. Keep Your Rubbish Bin Tidy Image: cnet2.cbsistatic.com   Do you line your bin with grocery packets? Prevent your packets from sinking into the bin by using command hooks or adhesive hooks to keep them in place.

4, Keep Ice Cream Soft Image: cdn.ritely.com  If you’d like to be able to easily scoop ice cream straight out the freezer – without bending your spoon – then we suggest you store it in a zip lock bag to keep it soft.

5. Soften Butter Image: thekrazycouponlady.com When you use the microwave to soften butter, you always run the risk of melting it completely. Thankfully there’s a better way to soften it. All you need to do is fill a glass up with hot water, empty out the glass once it’s hot to the touch, and then flip it over the stick of butter you want to soften.

6. Ripen Avocados Image: www.californiaavocado.com  Are you tired of waiting for an avo to ripen? Place your avocado in a brown paper bag and leave it on a sunny windowsill for 1-2 days. The bag will help speed up the ripening process by trapping in the ethylene gas produced by the fruit.

7. Prevent Sugar From Clumping Image: thekrazycouponlady.com  Did you know that you can prevent sugar from clumping by adding marshmallows into your sugar jar? The marshmallows will absorb any unwanted moisture and keep your sugar clump-free!

8. Make Your Own Buttermilk Image: img.sndimg.com  When you’re out of buttermilk and don’t feel like making a trip for just one ingredient, you can easily make your own. Mix a few teaspoons of vinegar into your milk and set it aside for 2-3 minutes, and voila!

9. Clean Old Baking Pans Image: chasingfoxes.com   If your pans are discoloured from grease stains and burns, you’ll be glad to know that there’s an easy kitchen hack to make them look as good as new. Soak your pans in a mixture of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide and watch the stains quickly disappear as you clean.

10. Spot The Rotten Egg Image: www.simoncooks.pl  There’s nothing worse than cracking open a rotten egg. So to tell the good eggs apart from the bad, simply place them in a bowl of water. If the eggs sink straight to the bottom, then they’re fresh. But if they float, then you might want to throw them away.
