True Design’s Spook-tacular Kartell

Halloween is about moodier tones and accents and a darker side to life that can easily be translated into design. Here’s how to get the look in your interiors with amazing Kartell offerings now available locally through True Design 1.BIG FL/Y Big Fl/y completes the collection of pendant lamps designed by Ferruccio Laviani in 2002, which to date includes three different models that are equally stylish and appealing.

2. MING by Ferruccio Laviani Home diffusers Cache-cache and Ming – the two home diffusers of the Kartell Fragrances Collection – incorporate aesthetics and state-of-the-art technology thanks to the innovative hi-tech fibre of the sticks and curious silhouettes.

3. Bourgie by Ferruccio Laviani A lamp with an inimitable style, Bourgie is one of Kartell’s best sellers, skilfully combining classic style, richness and tradition with innovation and irony. The baroque style base is composed of three interconnecting decorated layers, while the large lampshade is made with a pleated effect, to create a myriad play of reflections when the lamp is turned on. The lamp shade’s unique attachment system makes three different heights possible which can be adjusted according to the desired use: 68, 73 and 78 centimetres. Bourgie becomes a gorgeous decorative desk or table lamp. Thanks to its flexibility and strong communication value, it can be used on a side-table in the living room, to create atmosphere on your nightstand, as a standing sculpture or for reading. After the great success of the transparent, black, gold, silver and white/gold versions, Kartell now offers three new and surprising multicolour versions, perfect for those who dare to be original and nonconformist.

4. Matelassé by PATRICIA URQUIOLA A colourful and playful round container-vase, ideal for any room in the home. The distinctive feature and special allure of these original vases lie in their particular conformation, suggestive of a wafed fabric with irregular sinuosities caused by the different surface thicknesses. A design item uniting the softness of its core with its sturdy structure, made possible by the top quality plastic used in its manufacture. The Matelassé vase comes in various colours and can be transparent or opaque.

5. PLANET by TOKUJIN YOSHIOKA A complete family of lamps (pendants, low table lamps, and lamps with metal structures) its special feature is the shape of its slightly elliptical diffuser. Its transparent surface, which is many-sided both inside and out, creates a rich tapestry of reflections.

6. Louis Ghost by Philippe Starck A comfortable armchair in transparent and coloured polycarbonate in the Louis XV style, it is the quintessence of baroque revisited to dazzle, excite and captivate. Louis Ghost is the most daring example in the world of injected polycarbonate in a single mould. Despite its evanescent and crystalline appearance, Louis Ghost is stable and durable, shock and weather resistant and can also be stacked six high. This article has great charm and considerable visual appeal and brings a touch of elegance and irony to any style of home or public area.

7. Masters by Philippe Starck con Eugeni Quitllet The Masters chair is a powerful tribute to three symbolic chairs, re-read and re-interpreted by the creative genius of Starck. The unmistakable silhouettes of the “Series 7” by Arne Jacobsen, the “Tulip Armchair” by Eero Saarinen and the “Eiffel Chair” by Charles Eames are interwoven into a sinuous hybrid giving life to a fusion of original and engaging styles. The Masters is light, practical and stackable and can be used outdoors as well. To give the Masters an even more precious, exclusive and sophisticated look it is given new and surprising metallic finishes. The Masters chair was honoured with the prestigious “2010 Good Design Award” presented by the Chicago Athenaeum – Museum of Architecture and Design and the 2013 Red Dot Design Award.   Contact: True Design
