Plascon House Tour: A Danish Apartment
Today’s stylish apartment boasts a recipe of playful colours and beautiful plywood applied in every room. Unconventional yet eye-catching we can’t get enough of the nifty layout with clever storage solutions in every room.
In the living room, a complete plywood installation creates a feature wall for decor and book storage. Each compartment is filled with some of the owner’s favourite things and collectables – adding colour and interest to this fascinating space. A built-in sofa system fits in perfectly and we love the bold choice of pink upholstery. Paired with the dark grey walls, this is a winning colour palette and lends a sense of femininity to the space.
Large windows are idyllic and the choice of window seat here is very inviting in this space. Again in pink, this ties in with the room’s colour scheme. A mix of scatters and a versatile shaggy rug adds richness and colour to this living area.
Hexagonal floors extend from the living space but in the rooms, the choice of white wood panelling as the desired flooring adds a brightness to the bedrooms. Plywood feature walls are modern and on trend and we love the use of oversized paper chandeliers that add another dimension in this space.
The warm honey tones of the plywood work wonderfully with the dark grey walls as featured in the kitchen. Here open shelving works as a contemporary storage solution with glassware and kitchen staples on display against the dark feature wall. The cabinets are kept neutral and simplicity is the order of the day here. Raw wood doors, without hardware, hint at a minimalist and relaxed lifestyle. A geometric metal light fitting adds a touch of glam!
The natural shades of the wood extend to the bedroom where cabinets and a poster-bed create a dreamy, serene environment. The bed is a showstopper, complete with edging that extends all the way around and adds to the overall style of this space. Deep blue drapes offer a contrast in this space and again, a stylish white paper lantern works wonderfully as a central source of light above the bed. A cosy leather armchair in one corner adds to the comfort factor of this space.
