Peter J A Stuart: Pedrali Good Ideas
From 17 to 22 April 2018, Italian furniture brand Pedrali showcased its latest collections at the 57th Salone del Mobile in Milan with the #Pedraligoodideas setting (Hall 10, Stand B19-C28) designed by the Milanese architectural studio Calvi Brambilla.
Drawing inspiration from an object as charged with meaning as the light bulb, Fabio Calvi and Paolo Brambilla studio paid tribute to the Italian company’s “latest good ideas” with an installation that was both a museum display and a product dramatisation.
The light bulb took on an iconic dimension with a twofold communicative and architectural element, forming the leitmotif of the entire installation.
The 800 sq.m stand formed a single, highly architectural volume, marked by longitudinal and circular openings strung with light bulbs. The effect was that of a museum itinerary through seven spaces displayed the brand’s latest collections.
Drawing Inspiration from the world of art, architecture and theatre, the entire stand was accentuated with refined elegance.
In Pedrali Good Ideas, product dramatisation was made even more interactive by subtle references to the world of peep-shows, where visitors could look at real life dance performances staged around some of the brand’s most iconic products through peepholes.
Established in 1963 in Palazzolo sull’Oglio, Pedrali is today a company that produces contemporary design furniture for public spaces, offices and homes in its production sites in Mornico al Serio (Bergamo) and Manzano (Udine). The headquarters in Mornico al Serio also features the automatic warehouse, whose outside concept was entrusted to the architect Cino Zucchi.
The collection is the result of a rigorous and careful research that is realized in the creation of industrial design products made of plastic, metal, wood and upholstered materials.
Locally, Peter J A Stuart is a trusted provider of world renowned fine furniture including the likes of Pedrali – bringing an authentic Italian essence to South African shores. They have a flair for beautifully designed furniture, exceptional craftsmanship and unmatched innovation.
