Make your home merry with these festive decorating ideas from Ashley Furniture
Get out the tinsel, it’s Christmas time!
There’s no denying that you can never have too many Christmas baubles around the house – the more, the merrier, right?
To help spread the festive cheer, the team from Ashley’s Furniture Homestore in Pretoria share some ideas for decorating your front door and entryway.
“When your doorway decorations express your personality, your guests will feel a sincere welcome,” the team notes.
And with so many different decorations to choose from, there really is a style, theme and colour combo for every home.
“There’s an excellent variety of holiday decorations to choose from that range from general winter themes to Santa’s workshop,” the team says. “This allows you to experiment with different themes yearly (or even room to room). Imagine doing an all-white Christmas garland and wreath setup in one entryway and traditional red and green in another space.”
“Replace your standard welcome mat with a holiday-themed one and place holiday porch signs on each side of your door. Add a wreath to the centre of your front door with garlands strung around the top and sides. For even more fun, place a Christmas tree on your front porch,” suggests the team.
If you feel like it, you can even repaint your front door in a festive colour!
And don’t forget to add festive lights and fun Christmas-themed outdoor accessories to your stoep such as an outdoor rug, scatter cushions, figurines and candles.
Remember, you can also add decor and lights to your front windows to really light up your home with Christmas cheer.
“Christmas window decorations like LED candles and garlands can add a lot of fun and flair to your holiday house design,” says the team.
