Zorora & Friends: A Collaborative Project

Zorora is pleased to introduce the Zorora & Friends collaborative project – bringing local brands together into their new showrooms to show off the latest interior trends for the seasons ahead.

Zorora means to rest or relax in Shona and the brand lives for its namesake. As a proudly South African made-to-order sofa brand, Zorora celebrates its neighbours and has taken the opportunity to expand its footprint and open two mall showrooms in 2023, namely at Table Bay Mall on the West Coast of Cape Town and in Clearwater Mall, Roodepoort.

The creative challenge was enticing customers into the new showrooms while paying homage to being an online store. The clean, minimalist store layout needed a colour pop and some decor.

As such, Zorora developed a collaborative program called Zorora & Friends, where the brand invited local online stores to exhibit their products in the showrooms. These friends are small businesses that have or do something special.

“We love featuring our friends in our campaign shoots, enhancing the customer experience and confirming the partnership on our social platforms and digital media.”

Some of the friends featured have been Crates of Beauty (Bali-inspired, locally made woven decor), WEEV (home decor pieces hand woven in Africa in beautiful, bright colours) and Simply Colour (A local online paint brand by Shaves). Zorora has chosen partners like Simply Colour to show off the latest colour trends in decor. Keeping up with international colour trends, the SS23 season featured tinted peach, which is the Simply Colour offering to Peach Fuzz. They have also featured Chapters, the home fragrance brand, to bring scent into the showroom spaces; another local online store. The result is therefore a culmination of local talent that invigorates all of the senses.

The newest friends are those from local brand, Wild Republic, a company that curates and collects beautiful products.

Zorora & Friends is an ongoing program – creating the perfect space where local businesses can engage with one another and develop new friends.

For AW24, Zorora are excited to share that they have changed the colour of the two mall showrooms to feature two beautiful Winter colours by Simply Colour. Namely, Sage green & Burgundy are bringing some warmth and drama to the showrooms this season. Together with warm wooden tones and decor pieces, the showrooms have become inviting spaces, with newly launched Zorora sofas as the main attraction.
