The Murtoli Outdoor Sofa by Ligne Roset

With “Murtoli”, Christian Werner has designed an outdoor sofa for Ligne Roset that is both formally and functionally the ideal basis for relaxation on warm summer days.

The Concept

This large outdoor settee is a breath of fresh air. One can hardly believe that it is in fact, suited to the outdoors! Murtoli has an extremely homely feel: A very generous reclining surface with a width of 240 centimetres offers plenty of space to relax, while the extra-soft foam in the upholstery and the wooden structure ensure exclusive comfort.

In addition, the adjustable backrests offer two different inclinations that ideally support the desired sitting and reclining position. The cushion roll, which can be used flexibly, is both decorative and functional.

The undercover and the outdoor anti-slip fabric of “Murtoli” is water-repellent. In combination with the black lacquered aluminium skid frame, the straight seat with the wedge and cylinder-shaped upholstery elements has a graphic and pleasantly reduced effect.”Murtoli” thus also fits formally into any environment, be it the garden of a hotel or the in-house terrace.

Construction and Comfort

The seat and bolster are composed of high resilience polyurethane Bultex foam. The back cushion is composed of high resilience polyurethane Bultex foam which has been clad in ultra-flexible foam. Its interior is fitted with an anti-slip system. As mentioned, the inner liner is made from water-repellent fabric to guarantee water resistance (including back cushion and bolster). The covers are quilted with polyester. Baguette stitching and twin-needle stitching can be seen on the seat and back cushions.
