Poltrona Frau & Fornasetti Redefine Iconic Design in the 2025 Five Seasons Collection
In a meeting of timeless craftsmanship and imaginative design, Poltrona Frau and Fornasetti have unveiled a refined new chapter in their creative partnership. The 1919 armchair and the Isidoro trunk-bar – two icons of Italian design – return as re-edited masterpieces in the 2025 Five Seasons collection, reimagined with one of Fornasetti’s most poetic and symbolic motifs: Ultime Notizie.
A whimsical flurry of butterflies drifting across newspaper clippings, Ultime Notizie is more than a pattern, it’s a story. Rendered with Poltrona Frau’s pioneering leather printing techniques and applied to the brand’s exclusive Pelle Frau® ColorSphere® Impact Less leather, the decoration transforms each piece into a tactile canvas where illusion and reality blend seamlessly. The result is a stunning interplay of artistry and material innovation that celebrates the craftsmanship both brands are known for.
The 1919 armchair, a hallmark of Poltrona Frau’s over-a-century-old legacy, is elevated to new heights. Long celebrated for its classic bergère silhouette and handcrafted detail, the armchair now adopts a bolder, more expressive identity through the Fornasetti lens. A conversation between heritage and modern artistry, it bridges eras while commanding attention in any interior.
Equally striking is the Isidoro trunk-bar, originally designed by Jean-Marie Massaud in 2007. Reminiscent of glamorous transatlantic voyages and the opulence of Art Deco soirées, this updated edition is adorned in Ultime Notizie for a surreal, dreamlike effect. More than just a functional object, it becomes a sculptural centrepiece – luxurious, unexpected, and impossible to ignore.
Part of the new Five Seasons collection, these re-editions evoke not only the changing moods of nature – Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter – but also a “fifth season”: the deeply personal space of self-expression and harmony.
Available now at Poltrona Frau stores globally, the capsule collection invites collectors and design aficionados alike to experience craftsmanship and creativity in perfect symphony.
