Pine Options: Comfort and Design
Modern design meets cosy comfort.
For many years maker and dreamer Deon Louw envisioned a space where modern designs and affordability seamlessly converged. Pine Options emerged as a response to this vision, providing beautifully crafted furniture that marries simplicity and elegance without breaking the bank.
Pine Options began life in 2002 as a retail shop in Gabriel Road, Plumstead. However, it wasn’t until 2016 that the brand found its distinctive range, marked by innovation and practicality. The decision to use Medium-Density Fiberboard (MDF), also known as Supawood, set Pine Options apart. This choice, made for its durability and resistance to yellowing, reflects a commitment to quality.
Today, the furniture line includes bookshelves, chests of drawers, headboards, tables, pedestals and desks, as well as chairs and stools. It also incorporates ball-bearing type runners for smooth gliding, emphasising functionality alongside aesthetics. While the use of MDF allows for cut-out or finger grip handles, contributing to the clean and contemporary look of Pine Options’ products. The design consideration extends to details such as nylon gliders on items without leg bases, ensuring the protection of wooden floors.
Pine Options, despite its evolution, remains rooted in customer satisfaction. Deon Louw’s hands-on approach involves close collaboration with suppliers and clients, ensuring that each piece meets not only the highest standards of craftsmanship but also aligns with the needs and preferences of the clientele.
As Pine Options proudly celebrates almost two decades of fulfilling the demand for affordable yet sophisticated furniture, it continues to play a valuable role in the local market and will continue to do so for many years to come.
