Meritalia at other.circle: Gaetano Pesce’s Bold Manifesto at Copenhagen Design Week
During Copenhagen Design Week, Meritalia® at other.circle is not your typical furniture showcase; it’s a full-bodied manifesto for design without boundaries. Set within a pared-back space, the vivid creations of Gaetano Pesce take centre stage, each piece radiating with character, curiosity, and a deliberate rejection of convention.
Some Of Us is a luminous object from the Edizioni del Pesce collection by Gaetano Pesce
Here, colour and craft collide. The luminous Some Of Us, a resin portrait with soul-searching eyes, is more than decor; it’s a symbol of individuality and imperfection. Like much of Pesce’s work, it invites the viewer into a world where no two pieces are the same, where experimentation is the process and personality is the outcome.
La Michetta sofa by Gaetano Pesce.
Meanwhile, the irreverent La Michetta sofa reimagines Milan’s daily bread as a plush, modular icon of conviviality. Each segment surprises with its shape, colour, and tactile quality – boldly eschewing predictability for joy. While Senzafine, a looped, knotted armchair made from extruded polyurethane, is both sculpture and seat, chaotic in form yet elegantly engineered.
Senzafine by Gaetano Pesce is a “tangled” armchair. Each piece originates from the continuous extrusion of a polyurethane cord
What unites this collection is a shared spirit: fluid, vibrant, and defiantly non-linear. Meritalia®, through its partnership with Pesce, doesn’t just create furniture. It creates expressive tools for living differently. The installation at other circle is a tribute to multiplicity; where the radical meets the refined, and design becomes a celebration of the self.
The Shadow armchair by Gaetano Pesce is moldless. It is the result of a manufacturing process developed and perfected by Meritalia®: the armchair is shaped with the injection of polyurethane foam, expanding and solidifying unpredictably.
Meritalia® stands as an incubator of multifaceted creativity, attuned to the evolving desires of a society in constant self-reflection. It envisions living spaces not as static environments, but as ever-shifting expressions of individuality. By rejecting the symmetry—and the monotony—of the traditional living room, Meritalia® reinvents the ordinary. Sofas, chairs, armchairs, and tables are transformed from everyday furnishings into extraordinary icons, each one a bold statement of form, function, and freedom.
