Inova Contracts: Shim Coffee Table
Known for its effortlessly cool designs that seamlessly blend classic appeal with contemporary notions, Hay is a go-to for design lovers around the world.
Not one to disappoint, Hay’s latest offering, the Shim Coffee Table by Danish designer Jonas Trampedach, offers yet another achingly simple and elegant yet completely elevated design. This time of the humble coffee table.
What appears as a simplistic three-legged coffee table in steel is, actually, an intense exploration of cutting and bending processes, resulting in an original leg construction that creates a simple yet sculptural expression explains Hay.
Simple but also so much more.
The Shim Coffee Table is available in two sizes and three colourways: Bordeaux, Silver Grey and Custard. This variety of sizes and finishes combined with Shim’s graphic elegance make it suitable for a wide variety of environments.
Born in Denmark in 1974, Trampedach studied Design at Denmark’s Design School in 2004, followed by a Master’s degree in Design Products at the Royal College of Art in London in 2009. After moving back to Copenhagen in 2010, he established his studio, where he produces his furniture and products, and works on collaborations with other design companies. For HAY, he has developed the Cornet Bar Stool, the Type Chair and The Shim Coffee Table.
Hay is available from Inova Contracts, a local stockist of design-led furniture for discerning South African buyers.
