Creating New Light With Studio Lloyd
As the hospitality industry is gearing up for the busy summer season, many hotels and restaurants are using the Winter months to renovate their spaces to add a fresh touch for their guests to enjoy.
Steenberg Estate in Tokai used this opportunity to renovate both of their restaurants Tryn & Bistro Sixteen82 with Interior Design studio Lulu Maison. They gave them not just a fresh coat of paint but a whole new interior feel by replacing all of the restaurant and boardroom lighting.
Local lighting design house Studio Lloyd incorporates the traditional technique of crochet into modern lighting. The brand focuses on creating organic shapes within each unique design. Furthermore, the studio allows each fixture to develop organically and combines luxurious high-quality materials.
Handcrafted Multi-Tier Lights
For the renovation at Bistro Sixteen82, Studio Lloyd designed handcrafted multi-tier pendants. These can be seen in soft earthy colours as well as brass pebble-shaped pendants. The combination of the soft crochet texture and the antique brass finish creates a smooth and luxurious atmosphere in the open space restaurant and cellar view.
The boardroom has been dressed with a light installation that adds a true eye-catching element to the room. The rich green custom pendants are a reference to the studio’s signature Iris Pendant. Even though it fills the space, it still feels open and spacious at the same time.
Lulu Maison combined local hospitality experiences with local artisans. This elevates the importance of using the resources available and encourages locally accessible skills.
