Casarredo: Tom Dixon
Well-known for its focus on materiality and manufacturing, British designer Tom Dixon’s eponymous products are a favourite on the decor scene. His latest collection, unveiled during London Design Festival 2024 is no different, wowing design lovers with new innovations in furniture, lighting and accessories.
Titled “Loungability” the showcase highlighted the central role seating plays in our contemporary lifestyle with statement designs, including a new wave of hyper-flexible modular sofa designs, Plump and Fat, as well as the Slab lounge chair and the Unbeaten pendant light.
Commenting on the designs, Tom Dixon said: “We have witnessed an almost invisible revolution taking place in living rooms, lobbies and lounges. Where previous generations gathered around a single focal point – be it the fireplace, television or radio – we now find ourselves in increasingly deconstructed communal situations. Social media, wireless technology and even the pandemic have transformed our spaces, where couches and sofas have taken on a central. Omnidirectional role as platforms for slouching, shopping, working and entertainment. Sofas must evolve to reflect and enhance our changing behaviours. It’s time they moved away from the corners and walls and became platforms for individuality, greater flexibility and, occasionally, unexpected uses.”
Taking inspiration from the classic Chesterfield, Plump offers various configurations and a versatile design that suits most aesthetics, while Fat prioritises proper comfort.
Tom Dixon is locally available at Casarredo. With over 20 years of experience in the furniture and decor industry, Casarredo offers discerning customers an exclusive range of international-brand furniture, kitchens, wardrobes, lighting and accessories.
