Award-Winning Tape is Moroso’s Brand New Product
The Tape seating system – a Benjamin Hubert project for Moroso presented during Milan’s latest Salone del Mobile – is an innovative product that combines fashion with technology and sustainability.
The collection, consisting of a modular seating system and tables, uses polyurethane rubber tape, normally used in the production of sports clothing, to bond together smaller remnants of textile that would otherwise be discarded. The tape therefore not only plays an important functional role, it also becomes a feature of the sofa’s aesthetic.
It’s no wonder then that Tape is bringing home awards. It has recently won the EDIDA 2018 award Ukraine in the “Seating” category. The awards ceremony took place in November 2018 at the Regent Hill Event Hall in Kiev. The winners of the 14 categories drawn up by EDIDA were rewarded with exclusive trophies created especially for the ceremony in Ukraine.
About Moroso:
Moroso has been working in close collaboration with some of the world’s most talented designers to produce luxury sofas and seating since 1952.
Today the company is headed by the second generation of the Moroso family- Roberto, the CEO, and Patrizia, the Art Director,- and is an example of how a small Italian artisan-owner company has evolved since it was run until the nineties by Agostino Moroso.
The company has always been open to new ideas, from its origins in post-war Italy where there was a culture of ‘doing things and doing them well’, Moroso has been farsighted, daring and certain of the advantage of combining craftsmanship and tailoring with industrial processing techniques to create unique products and by drawing on the worlds of industrial design, contemporary art and fashion.
Along with its product catalogue, the culmination of thirty years work in design and expression, Moroso offers customers its design and production expertise to create customized projects for the contract and luxury residential sectors. Their ability to offer unique products is thanks to the combined talents of 70 master artisans, a network of trusted suppliers, the use of high quality materials and a true attention to detail.
Moroso is available from True Design in SA.
