Cane Time: Celebrating Dedon’s Laboratory
‘Laboratory’ was the theme of the Dedon booth at this year’s Salone del Mobile. Celine Parmentier, who has designed exhibits for DEDON in the past and who worked for many years as an architect for Philippe Starck, has developed the styling concept.
The theme fit perfectly with the current “500 years of Leonardo Da Vinci” celebrations in Milano. The architecture of this year’s booth was an elaboration of the “farm house” concept that DEDON has developed together with the Danish/Italian design duo GamFratesi.
In Milano 2019, they will be both in the farm house and absorbed by the surrounding landscape. The laboratory is a place to study nature, get inspired and create. Plants and animals, rendered in artful illustrations, from the microscopic to the massive, are an infinite source of imagination and creation.
Dedon have always been pioneers in the industry. The first to weave synthetic fiber into luxury outdoor designs, the first to place an absolute premium on quality, the first to become a truly global brand setting the standard for woven outdoor furniture since its founding in 1990. This is the legacy of Dedon.
Working closely with some of the world’s leading designers, from household names to emerging talents, Dedon has been raising the bar for design and innovation in outdoor furniture since the beginning.
