Furniture Fair: A Complete Wenkem SA Office Revamp
Following a previously success project, Wenkem approached Furniture Fair about a second project and thus began a transformative journey to redesign their newly acquired office space. The goal was to create a more welcoming, user-friendly environment that would enhance client interactions and functionality.
The original office layout was restrictive, prompting us to collaborate with Tau Pele Construction to reimagine the space. The team began by removing outdated elements like dry walls, doors, and brickwork, creating a clean slate for a modern design. Inspired by Wenkem’s brand colours of green and blue, they chose a natural, earthy palette with wood and steel accents to infuse authenticity and harmony into the environment.
Key design elements focused on comfort and efficiency. Ergonomic office chairs from Entrawood, client seating from Woodebender, and decor fabrics from Hertex added style and functionality. Sleek desking from Entrawood completed the office setup, while custom signage from Graphic and Sign Worx enhanced the visual identity, leaving a strong impression on visitors.
A unique challenge arose when the client requested the integration of their 35-year-old boardroom table. The table and its chairs were restored, seamlessly blending heritage with the modern aesthetic. To further personalise the space, all artwork was sourced from a local artist, adding authenticity and a connection to the community.
The project, spanning a year from planning to installation, was a testament to collaboration and attention to detail. Tau Pele Construction and our suppliers played an invaluable role, enabling us to complete the revamp a month ahead of schedule.
The result is a space that transcends functionality, embodying Wenkem’s identity and purpose while fostering a welcoming atmosphere for clients and staff alike. The Wenkem office revamp showcases the power of thoughtful design and teamwork in creating environments that inspire and connect.
