Barker Street: hospitality and retail furniture
A supplier of high-quality, corporate, hospitality and retail furniture to the South African market, Barker Street is the go-to for smart execs looking to kit out their offices.
Apart from stocking an impressive line-up of international brands such as Framery, Herman Miller and Knoll, Barker Street also assists private clients and the design community with projects, suggesting appropriate furniture for executive areas, reception spaces, communal workspaces and more on a project basis.
The company recently teamed up with Bryte Insurance to kit out its new office space in Rosebank, Johannesburg.
Distinctly modern in design approach, the largely open-plan offices stretch over two floors and include impressive design features such as a striking timber-clad logo, boldly announcing Bryte’s presence in the foyer.
“This emblematic symbol is mirrored by a custom-designed seating arrangement, echoing the brand’s identity. The intentional integration of these elements creates an immediate impression of professionalism and elegance,” explains Barker Street who was scoped to provide furniture for communal areas, 440 workstations and 115 locker units for the project, as well as furnish 20 meeting and training rooms and ten executive suites.
For the airy communal area, Barker Street chose soft furniture from Comfort Creations, creating a relaxing retreat in muted tones where colleagues can bond.
Meanwhile, the executive offices feature bespoke designed desks with low-level side storage and back wall units, integrating functionality with sophistication. While the combination of timber finishes and plush upholstered fabric panels on the PA workstations creates a serene aesthetic, conducive to focused productivity and collaboration.
For the workstations, Barker Street recommended “versatile bench system workstations, designed to adapt to the dynamic needs of the modern workspace,” explaining that the upholstered fabric screens also provide privacy and acoustic comfort for Bryte’s dedicated team.
“In every aspect, Bryte’s new offices in Rosebank stand as a testament to the power of design to inspire, elevate, and transform. Through the collaborative efforts of Black Crown Projects and Conduit Interiors together with Barker Street Office Furniture, a workspace has been crafted that not only reflects Bryte’s commitment to excellence but also nurtures creativity, innovation, and collaboration. As Bryte continues to illuminate the financial landscape, its new offices serve as a beacon of inspiration for the industry,” concludes Barker Street.
