The world’s best apron is now coming to South Africa
WITLOFT, the apron of choice for chef Jamie Oliver, is now bringing its handmade leather product to South Africa. Whether you are the king of the grill or a passionate chef of the house, WITLOFT’s multi-functional aprons suit professionals and amateurs alike with a passion for cooking in handcrafted, artisanal style.
The authentically heat resistant Dutch WITLOFT apron is now found not just in Holland, but also in the UK, Scandinavia, Australia and in the US. The brand has built a huge worldwide fan base of customers that all share their WITLOFT experiences on Social Media!
The WITLOFT Story In 2014, founder Frank Abbenhuis – a home-cook & braai enthusiast – started WITLOFT in his little garden shed in Amsterdam. He was looking for a beautiful, durable apron and realised what he wanted didn’t exist. He learned all he could about leather manufacturing and talked to a leather factory to see in what way they could create the product he wanted. As soon as he put on his first apron, he realised what the potential could be. He went straight back to work, started designing, fine-tuning and producing and got finally the quality he wants for his WITLOFT products.
Perfect for a Nation of Chefs WITLOFT aprons are made of high-quality vegetable tanned saddle leather. The leather used is of Dutch origin and each apron is made by hand, giving every single one a unique look. As the leather lives and breathes, and as the chef cooks day in & day out, the aprons will get more beautiful and authentic by wearing it. South Africa, known as a nation full of braai addicts and food lovers, packed with top chefs, fantastic restaurants, and complemented by an amazing wine industry, is the perfect place for WITLOFT to bring their handcrafted and artisanal style next.
