Tessa’s Bakery: Making good old favourites great again

We recently spent the afternoon at an exclusive media launch of the newest Tessa’s Bakery store in Milpark, Milnerton. As a trendy cakery offering a wide variety of sumptuous treats, Tessa’s new store is bursting with energy and decadent goodness.

Tired of mass-produced, impersonal, and taste-depleted baking, the cake entrepreneurs at Tessa’s have taken a stand, whisk in hand. Butter, cream, sugar and good old-fashioned quality goods fill each bowl and make Tessa’s cakes the talk of the town. The launch was a celebration of all things delicious and bright, with mini cakes and treats decking out the entire venue, and a special kiddie’s area where the little ones could decorate their very own cupcake and cookie masterpieces, with the help of Tessa’s friendly and professional staff.
They started 25 years ago in Tessa’s home kitchen and moved on to their first store in Montague Gardens in 2012. From there the team have supplied coffee shops and launched their very own online store which supplies customers from around the Western Cape. Having started with just 3 employees, the team is now 20-cake-enthusiasts strong.

The new trendy storefront in Milpark is a feast for the eyes as is the layout with an open, bright and funky display with vibrant pops of colour that will magically transport you back to your childhood. They boast delectable drip cakes, decadent cupcakes and cake slices as well as authentic Greek delicacies.

Think caramel cake, red velvet cake, carrot cake, cheesecake, peppermint crisp tarts and more! And for the coffee lovers, they also have a barista who makes some pretty awesome Origin coffee. Mouth-watering masterpieces are made daily and don’t forget about those over-the-top celebration cakes – the Tessa’s team are ready and waiting to pull off your dream cake. Keep an eye on their social media feed for updates regarding some fun and interactive baking and decorating classes for kids and adults!

Thanks to the Tessa’s team for spoiling us with all the good old favourites! For more visit Tessa’s Bakery and check out their amazing handiwork on Facebook.
