La Monique at Oceana Santa Monica: A French Brasserie Redefining Oceanside Dining
The award-winning Oceana Santa Monica has entered a new culinary chapter with the recent opening of La Monique, a jewel-box French brasserie where Riviera spirit, Hollywood glamour, and timeless technique meet just steps from the Pacific. Poised to redefine Santa Monica’s dining scene, La Monique offers an experience as elegant and atmospheric as its oceanside setting.
A collaboration between JRK Property Holdings and 34th Floor, the F&B division of Schulte Hospitality Group, La Monique reflects a shared vision for guest-centric innovation and lifestyle dining. “La Monique reflects our vision for Oceana as a gathering place that is as relevant to the Santa Monica community as it is to our guests,” says Alex Landy, Executive Vice President of JRK. “It’s a transformative moment for the hotel, offering both locals and visitors an immersive dining experience that captures the spirit of the city.”
Designed by the acclaimed Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, La Monique is unapologetically bold – feminine in spirit, refined in style, and cinematic in its layering of jewel tones, velvets, and hand-crafted straw marquetry. A glowing backlit bar and sculptural cast-glass details set the mood, while reflective ceilings and curated art heighten the sense of theatre.
Each element was chosen for its emotional impact, creating an atmosphere where nostalgia and modernity coexist – a place to gather, linger, and savour beneath a silvered California sky.
Recently opened and already redefining oceanside dining, La Monique embodies the new spirit of Oceana Santa Monica: elegant, expressive, and effortlessly timeless.
