Van Dyck Presents Harmony
As South Africa’s oldest carpet manufacturer, Van Dyck Floors remains on trend by responding to the call for a durable residential carpet that is perfectly suited to the South African family lifestyle. The latest addition to the organisation’s already comprehensive flooring portfolio, Harmony, launches this January.
“Where there was a move away from carpets in the last decade, we are now seeing a return to the carpeting trend, with homeowners looking for softer flooring surfaces for their homes,” explains Bernd De Smedt, Sales and Marketing Director of Van Dyck Floors.
“Because Harmony is crafted using tufted polypropylene in a frieze effect, the carpet provides a bouncy, soft, and luxurious feel which really enhances bedroom and lounge spaces perfectly.” he adds. Van Dyck Floors is the only manufacturer in South Africa that offers all types of soft floor coverings being tufted, needlepunch and woven carpets and many of these are available in broadloom, tiles (DIY, plain back, bitumen backed) and rugs covering both the residential and commercial market. The company also manufactures a range of rubber underlays and Acoustic flooring products branded under the name Eco-Lay, InstaLay and InstaCradle.
These environmentally “green” underlays and acoustic access flooring accessories are manufactured from post-consumer recycled tyres, manufactured at their conversion plant in Hammarsdale (Mathe Group) and are suitable for and under a variety of floor coverings and floors (carpets, laminates, vinyl planks, bamboo and wood flooring). “There is a definite preference for locally manufactured products and with good reason,” continued De Smedt. “While supporting local labour and suppliers, we are also able to create products that are ideally suited to the South African market at a price point that is even better than similar competing products. We understand what is required and work hard to meet consumers’ needs, always developing and designing with them in mind.” As a leader in the carpet industry, Van Dyck Floors – a division of PFE International – has an intimate understanding of market trends and has noted the need for affordable, easy to clean and soft carpet such as Harmony. “Where previously, when consumers wanted durability they would opt for ceramic or laminated floors, we now find they are installing softer floorcoverings such as carpets, mainly in bedrooms”, he said. Harmony will come in seven rich, earthy tones and will compliment Van Dyck Floors kaleidoscopic range of flooring options. For more information on all their ranges, visit www.vandyckfloors.co.za.
