Italtile: Vita – A Story of Mediterranean Beauty
VITA is a tribute to the light, water, sun, greenery, colours, scents and flavours of the ‘cradle of civilisation’: the Mediterranean Sea. Ceramica Sant’Agostino thought that the best way was to create perfect majolica tiles in porcelain, paying tribute to art and tradition with unique ceramic invention and technology. Rendering such vivid colours on a shiny porcelain surface was a particularly engaging challenge met by their lab.
Effects, texture, reflections and colours of artisan majolica tiles.
There are many diverse inspirations: the colours of citrus fruit and flowering plants, the shapes of alleys and houses, the drawings on traditional embroidery and crockery. The abundance of the decorative subjects reflects the cultures of the lands that overlook the Mare Nostrum.
The collection intentionally combines references to art and folklore from different geographical areas: from Naples and the Amalfi Coast to Sicily, from Greece to the Iberian Peninsula and to Morocco.
Experimenting with innovative techniques to create new colours for porcelain stoneware, such as yellow created with digital technology and fired at high temperature, which has never been so vivid on porcelain stoneware: an absolute innovation. Making a unique surface, glossy with glaze – strictly lead free -, unpolished.
The Sole Mix Luc decor offers 37 different graphic variants, with countless colours that are so bright, especially in this glossy version, that they recall the infinite shades of the Mediterranean landscapes.
Sant Agostino:
An idea can be inspired by nature or by imagination. A stone, a wall or a painting. The ARTistic creativity and intuition transform them into a material for architecture.
To create the material, you need the skill of an ARTisan, machines and ceramic knowhow, aesthetic culture and a passion for design. And you need tough and painstaking development work.
The added value of Ceramica Sant’Agostino lies (also) in creating every collection as a solution kit for architecture, with matching colours, sizes, patterns and surfaces, designed to dress spaces and styles with technically impeccable solutions.
