It is celebrating the South Africa of today, a worthy player on the international fashion and design stage, whose roaring creativity remains loyal to its culture, rooted in the art and history of our sublime country. The blend, the richness of South African culture, history and art have transformed LE BHV MARAIS into a place of discovery and new experiences. In a project championed by Artlogic, This is Cape Town and LE BHV Marais, 30 exhibitors are retailing their luxury goods with a selection of exceptionally well-made artisanal South African brands across various design categories namely; fashion, furniture, accessories, beauty, homeware and decor – all in full fusion. With over 60 000 daily visitors, the store presents an invaluable opportunity of exposing international audiences and buyers to the electric pulse of a South African creative energy that redefines the art of fine living. LE BHV MARAIS has given a free rein to Jean-Philippe Aka, art dealer of 20 years and editor of the Africa Art Market Report, the first of its kind to provide African art content to the global marketplace. He presents his best-loved pieces to The Observatory at LE BHV MARAIS, as a testimony to the cultural dynamism and artistic vitality of South Africa.
