Sapienstone and Cupa Stone Brought Material Innovation to the Kissing Room at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2025

At the 40th anniversary edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid (MBFWM), held from September 17 to 21 at IFEMA Madrid, fashion took an unexpected and elegant turn — into the world of interior design. Among the standout highlights of the event was the Kissing Room, an exclusive backstage lounge space reimagined by renowned designer Raúl Martins, recipient of the Casa Decor Extraordinary Award 2025. In this unique setting, Sapienstone and Cupa Stone played a central role, turning surfaces into expressions of style, innovation, and creativity.

In collaboration with Casa Decor, Martins transformed the Kissing Room into an immersive experience where materials spoke the language of fashion. Rather than remaining in the background, surfaces became focal points — visual and tactile elements that elevated the space with a refined, contemporary aesthetic.

Cupa Stone, known for its expertise in natural stone and exclusive distributor of Sapienstone’s Haute Couture ceramic surfaces, clad the room with their signature Terra® brand. The finishes were executed with the same precision and craftsmanship seen in high-fashion tailoring, reinforcing the connection between architecture and couture.

Sapienstone, meanwhile, presented three of its most iconic collections — Calacatta Macchia Vecchia, Arabescato, and Fior di Viola — enhanced by the Iris Ceramica Group’s pioneering 4D technology. This advanced process allowed the veining to run through the entire thickness of each slab, creating a striking three-dimensional effect that echoed the depth and richness of natural marble. The result was a surface that combined aesthetic refinement with the strength and practicality of porcelain stoneware — a perfect fit for the demands of modern design.

Together, Sapienstone and Cupa Stone brought a new dimension to the Kissing Room. With Sklum furniture completing the design narrative, and Martins’ artistic direction leading the way, the space became a celebration of how material innovation and design vision can redefine traditional fashion environments.

At MBFWM 2025, Sapienstone and Cupa Stone didn’t just support the event — they helped shape its identity. Their contribution to the Kissing Room marked a powerful intersection of fashion, architecture, and design, offering a glimpse into the future of multidisciplinary creativity.
