Spotlight: Svenmill
With over 60 years of experience in the textile industry, Svenmill is a leading manufacturer and exporter of fine woven and warp knitted upholstery, dual purpose and curtaining fabrics, as well as apparel and technical fabrics. The company also sells a range of ready-made items, including scatter cushions, tablecloths and curtains.
But don’t think that decades of success have made them rest on their laurels. “We are always learning and delight in solving customer challenges. We draw on our expertise in yarns, fabrics, and increasingly chemistry, to produce and supply consistent and reliable products,” says the team.
To this end, new prints, patterns and colour ways are regularly introduced to the market. Just as luck would have it, these vibrant fabrics and products are the perfect way to liven up home interiors this summer.
Here are the fabrics we are loving right now:
- Romani
This boisterous collection of multi-purpose fabrics in zesty yellow, bright blue, purple and pink is spot-on for summer. The acrylic and polyester blend has a subtle slub texture and is extremely hardwearing with excellent stain resistance.
2. Beach House
This aptly named collection features three designs, each named after an iconic Cape Town beach. There’s Camps Bay, Clifton and our favourite, Muizenberg, which sports a chunky stripe design in eight colour ways.
- Global Ethnic
Inspired by East and West African designs, this range of upholstery fabrics features distressed geometric designs and interesting textures. We especially love the Arose design in Indigo.
