Harvest Moon Fabric Collection by Kit Kemp Arrives at Mavromac South Africa
Colour, texture and storytelling come together in Harvest Moon, the latest collection from award-winning interior designer Kit Kemp, designed with Andrew Martin. Now available in South Africa through Mavromac, the collection offers a joyful interpretation of pattern and material that invites interiors to feel both expressive and welcoming.
Comprising nine fabric designs alongside coordinating wallpapers and murals, Harvest Moon reflects Kemp’s distinctive design philosophy – one that celebrates colour, narrative and the art of layering. Each design begins as a hand-painted composition before being translated onto tactile surfaces using a combination of traditional and contemporary techniques. Embroidery, appliqué, tapestry and jacquard weaving sit alongside advanced digital printing, creating textiles that feel richly dimensional.
The palette is playful yet balanced, offering vibrant tones that energise a room without overwhelming it. Patterns move between graphic and organic motifs, giving designers the freedom to build layered schemes or introduce a single statement element. Throughout the collection, Kemp’s storytelling sensibility remains central – designs hint at distant landscapes and cultural references while maintaining a sense of familiarity and warmth.
As Kemp herself explains, the collection is intended to encourage confidence in decorating. “The colours are playful and the textures strong, compliant and easy to use,” she notes. “It is a collection rich in ideas with an abundance of scope.”
In South Africa, Harvest Moon finds a natural home at Mavromac & Gatehouse, the long-established lifestyle brand known for curating exceptional fabrics, furnishings and decorative collections. Since its founding in 1985, Mavromac has built strong relationships with leading international textile houses while simultaneously supporting local craftsmanship through its Gatehouse range.
The arrival of Harvest Moon continues this tradition, offering designers and homeowners a vibrant new palette of fabrics and wallpapers that celebrate imagination, craftsmanship and the enduring joy of interior design.
