The Potting Room from Black Fabrics
Celebrating the renewed popularity of homegrown kitchen gardens and the British love of allotments, Sanderson Home’s AW17 collection, ‘The Potting Room’ has a charming hand-crafted, relaxed country feel. This beautifully natural collection is now available locally though Black Fabrics.
Natural wildflower gardens, rustic farmer’s markets and gardening are just a selection of the sources of inspiration drawn upon by the Sanderson design team to create this captivating range. Each of the designs has been hand-drawn or created by using hand-printed techniques in the Sanderson studio. ‘The Potting Room’ is for the homemakers of all ages that are looking for outstanding value and easy to use decorating schemes.
The launch comprises three collections: Prints & Embroideries, Wallpapers and Weaves, which have been harmoniously coordinated with a charming potting shed colour palette. Rich tones of Brick, Fig and Barley are layered amongst the restful Fennel, Duck Egg and Dove. The Prints include: THE GARDENER The perfect design for those who have a love for pottering in the garden, this endearing design depicts charming wellington boots, watering cans, seed packets, vegetables, lavender & hydrangea flower pots, gardening tools and blue tit’s. Available in four colourways.
MAELEE ‘Maelee’, meaning the first spring growth in the month of May, is a modern take on an all-over floral. Inspired by the British wildflowers found in cottage gardens, this blooming design is bursting with hydrangeas, poppies, cornflowers, lavender, red campions, ox eye daisies and cow parsley. Available in three colourways.
DAMSON TREE Inspired by a flourishing Damson Plum Tree, this trail design features stylised birds perched upon the branches of a beautiful garden tree. The subtle texture has been created by using handcut lino blocks to develop the design which has then been printed onto a textured ground. Available in three colourways.
PAPER DOVES A flock of white doves, reminiscent of paper origami birds, soaring in the clear summer sky. This charmingly simple design has been given a subtle stipple effect due to being hand-printed onto the cloth. Available in four colourways.
THE ALLOTMENT Encompassing the homegrown spirit of this collection, ‘The Allotment’ is brimming with joy and nostalgia. Rows of vegetables, potting sheds, greenhouses, wheelbarrows, hen houses and bee hives give this design a cheerful, homely aesthetic. Available in two colourways.
SUNDIAL A bold, proudly standing sunflower created using lino block printing for an elegant, hand-printed relied texture. Available in two colourways; Denim/Barley, which has a natural feel and Linen/Mole, which reimagines the design with white highlights within the seeds.
The Embroideries include: BAY TREE Early morning songbirds bathe in the spring sunlight as they sit upon a Bay Tree. The printed stencil tree and embroidered birds give the design a handcrafted feel. Available in three colourways, and coordinates with the ‘Bay Tree’ wallpaper.
WARREN Embroidered running hares bound across a printed polka dot ground, a spirited design that has a captivating sense of movement. Coordinates with the ‘Dorothy’ wallpaper and available in two colourways. EVERLY A delicately embroidered trail of flowering wild chamomile, plays with matt and shine to create an elegant aesthetic.
Available in three colourways; a warm Barley, soft Mineral and gentle Fig. CARAWAY ‘Caraway’ is a tactile embroidery presented in a geometric pattern.
