Mavromac: Chilgrave Collection
Infused with a richly layered aesthetic and global inspiration, Colefax and Fowler’s striking Chilgrave Collection for Autumn 2024, consists of distinctive prints, layered embroideries and multi-faceted weaves and plains.
Celebrating the creativity and skill of artisan embroiderers, the collection’s exquisite floral motifs are bold and confident in colour. Highlights among the range of bold embroideries and distinctive prints – perfect for a richly layered aesthetic – include Marquis, which showcases an array of embroidery techniques including intricate chain stitch and hand-sewn knotwork on a pure linen ground. This boldly patterned design, inspired by the rich details of antique paisley textiles, is further enhanced by striking colour combinations and is available in three colourways.
Heatherley, meanwhile, is a luxuriously embroidered floral design that makes a captivating and eye-catching statement with wisteria flowers in full bloom. Heatherley combines two embroidery techniques to achieve a layered look – the hand-guided woolly chain stitch in the flowers allows for a wider variety of colour and contrasts with the satin stitch work of the leaves, giving this embroidery its unique charm. Heatherley is available in three colourways.
Alvita is an elegant contemporary reinterpretation of a classic Tree of Life motif and features Indienne-inspired flower heads, rosettes and leaf fronds gracefully cascading from the branches. Exquisitely decorative, the design showcases intricate embroidered details highlighted in a variety of rich colours. Alvita is available in three colourways.
Last but not least, Tamarind offers a truly striking design. Inspired by antique Suzani patchwork, this richly patterned print combines vibrant colours with subtle textures, beautifully capturing the essence of the original piece. The design features classic Suzani circular shapes within a leafy grid, accented by a delicately patterned stripe of tiny leaves. With its vibrant colours and harmonious symmetry, Tamarind is perfect for both drapery and upholstery.
