Constantia Fabrics: An Inside Scoop on Textile Trends
Nearly half the year has come and gone and, we’ve seen so many trends and themes come back to the textile industry. We asked the experts from Constantia Fabrics to share an inside scoop on the latest in fabric trends.
From the successful exhibition PROPOSTE in Italy, the prominent themes coming through is luxurious, rich in colours with that classic and retro designs. The other strong theme is authentic; as in real linen and other natural fibres, real wood and great craftsmanship.
What’s making a real comeback is retro fabrics. Not only in fashion but through interiors too and the fabric that’s highly recommended is velvets that can be used in any space setting.
The best way to use velvets is on an occasional chair or in cushions. However if you are brave enough, nothing speaks luxury like beautiful and professionally made velvet curtains. They stunning during any season.
We’ve seen consumers staging a revolt against mass production and clutter when it comes to shopping consciously. Constantia Fabrics support craftsmanship, authentic fabrics and furnishings with an honest narrative like the origin of the fibres, weaving, or any family who produces furnishings. Its more than just fabric but rather a holistic experience. It is far more important to have furnishing fabrics from a small, ethical mill in Europe who produces small runs with integrity than to buy cheaper mass produced synthetics from China. Rather buy less and be honoured by what is your home than fill your spaces with clutter that doesn’t have a significant meaning.
In more exciting news, Constantia Fabrics is in the process of launching two new collections which will be revealed once it’s on the shelves as well as designing a brand new easy-friendly website that will allow you to order online through an order form.
