Ambiente Giving: Shupatto / Marna, Japan

In 2026, Frankfurt’s trio of consumer goods trade fairs—Ambiente, Christmasworld, and Creativeworld—is putting sustainability in the spotlight like never before. A remarkable 335 exhibitors will carry the Ethical Style Label, the independent mark of environmentally and socially responsible design. Of these, 289 hail from Ambiente, 32 from Christmasworld, and 14 from Creativeworld, with 123 newcomers impressing an international jury of experts with their innovative approaches to sustainable production.

The label, valid for three years, rewards companies that use recyclable materials, resource-saving processes, traditional craftsmanship, and socially fair working conditions. Exhibitors can apply with a single product, an entire line, or their full company portfolio, giving visitors a curated window into the future of conscious consumerism.

Dining with Purpose: Nature Line Cutlery – Finland

At Ambiente Dining, Finland’s Nature Line is redefining what cutlery can be. Made from 95% biocomposite—a blend of softwood and renewable polypropylene derived from tall oil, a byproduct of pine trees—the line is eco-conscious from start to finish. Produced in Finland to the highest safety standards, it avoids deforestation entirely.

“The Nature Line brand combines beauty and durability with genuine environmental responsibility,” says juror Kees Bronk of GO! GoodOpportunity. “While Europe debates the new deforestation regulations, Nature Line is already ahead of the curve.”

Compact Innovation: Shupatto / Marna – Japan

Japanese brand Shupatto / Marna turns the reusable bag into a design marvel. With a single pull, the bag unfolds; fold it back, and it becomes a neat, press-stud-secured package. Its origami-inspired mechanics are not only clever—they are sustainable, made entirely from recycled plastic and printed with environmentally friendly inks.

“Shupatto / Marna proves that trendy, functional design can coexist with conscious living,” says Sabine Meyer of side by side Design at Caritas Wendelstein Werkstätten. “It’s small in storage but big in impact—perfect for the modern eco-conscious lifestyle.”

Light Up Sustainability: My Flame Lifestyle – Netherlands

At Ambiente Living, candles are getting a green makeover. My Flame Lifestyle produces organic candles from GMO-free soy wax, sourcing materials transparently and sustainably.

Juror Christina Bocher of DEKRA praises the brand: “My Flame Lifestyle shows how a simple product can integrate renewable materials, ethical sourcing, and sophisticated design. It sets a benchmark for lifestyle brands committed to both beauty and responsibility.”

Craft and Care: Textialpaca – Peru

Peru’s Textialpaca has spent more than three decades weaving luxury from alpaca fibres while empowering local communities. Through its ‘We Care’ initiative, knitters from the small town of Callalli earn a fair living, improving conditions for their families.

“The products capture the essence of traditional Peruvian weaving—quality, softness, and durability—while also reflecting a deep social responsibility,” explains Sabine Meyer. “It’s a model of how fashion can support communities and heritage simultaneously.”

Tradition Meets Sustainability: Marolin Manufaktur – Germany

Richard Mahr’s Marolin Manufaktur in Steinach has crafted seasonal decorations for over 120 years, from nativity figures to nostalgic tree ornaments. Made from Marolin® clay—a mix of kaolin, chalk, paper fibres, and plant glue—the pieces are a testament to enduring craftsmanship.

“Marolin combines tradition with resilience,” notes juror Mimi Sewalski. “It’s a reminder that longevity, values, and skilled craftsmanship are themselves a form of sustainability.”

Art That Lasts: Hahnemühle FineArt – Germany

Founded in 1584, Hahnemühle FineArt blends centuries-old paper-making techniques with modern sustainability. Its Natural Line artist papers, made from bamboo and hemp, are fully recyclable, vegan, and produced with minimal energy in a cascade process.

Juror Lutz Dietzold of the German Design Council comments: “Hahnemühle demonstrates that innovation, tradition, and sustainability can exist in perfect harmony. It’s a masterclass in responsible design for creative professionals.”

Ethical Style: Navigating the Fair with Purpose

With so much to see, the Ethical Style Label helps retailers and visitors find sustainable products effortlessly. Online searches allow filtering by area of interest, while on-site signage highlights participating exhibitors. Two Ethical Style Spots—in Hall 3 Via Foyer and Hall 10.1 foyer—curate standout products from all three fairs, offering inspiration for retailers and consumers alike.

From Finland to Peru, Japan to Germany, 2026’s Ethical Style participants show that sustainability is not a trend—it’s a design ethos. These are products that look good, feel good, and do good, proving that the future of lifestyle design is responsible, creative, and unmistakably stylish.
