Get Ready for Salone del Mobile Milano 2023

News just in… the experts have gathered to present the latest preview and features you can expect at the next Salone del Mobile. Milano, from 18 to 23 April 2023.

The 61st edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano returns to Fiera Milano Rho from 18 to 23 April. A stage of international importance this year accelerates the important process of transformation of the fair with innovations in the established formulas.

The most important changes in the upcoming edition are the single-floor layout that simplifies, improves and enhances the visitor experience; the new layout for Euroluce, designed by Lombardini22 studio with an innovative loop itinerary; and the fact the cultural component of the fair will move from the traditional event in the city to the spaces of the lighting biennial.

Maria Porro, President of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, had this to say: “We worked on giving shape to the suggestions and visions that have emerged over the last few years, based on a couple of simple questions: what is the new role of the Salone? How and where to start redesigning its evolution? We listened to the needs of those who make and experience the Salone, exhibitors and visitors alike, holding more than 2,300 interviews and themed work groups. This fostered the idea for an exhibition on one single level to facilitate the flows and we took an almost “urbanistic” approach to the internal design of the pavilions. Taking our cue from Euroluce, the biennial devoted to the lighting world – which has changed so markedly over the last few years – we redesigned the path, integrating the spaces for companies with interdisciplinary cultural content connected with the relationship between light, architecture, art and science. A metamorphosis likely to interest the Salone as a whole, geared to helping redesign the trade fair model.”

Euroluce 2023 and all its events

The biennial event dedicated to light, based on the concept of The city of lights, will be organized along an irregular loop itinerary resembling an urban layout, which will welcome a rich program of cultural content curated by Beppe Finessi, as well as a site-specific work by artist Maurizio Nannucci and Aurore, a large talk arena designed by Formafantasma studio.

Formafantasma was also entrusted with the exhibition design of the twelve Constellations. This was curated by Finessi and of the bookshop curated by Corraini Edizioni. Four exhibitions by four different authors will complete the program. The talk schedule, curated by Annalisa Rosso, will feature Shigeru Ban, Nao Tamura, Kjetil Trædal Thorsen and Marius Myking, fondatori di Snøhetta, and Andrea D’Antrassi of MAD Architect.

Finally, inside Euroluce’s four dimmed-down pavilions, there will be a bistro and a fine dining restaurant designed by Piero Lissoni. In addition, SaloneSatellite will be back in its 24th edition with 550+ under-35 exhibitors, guest-starring designer Gaetano Pesce.
