Show off your skills at the Expo and win exclusive prizes while you harness your creative DIY skills with Annie Sloan. We love Annie Sloan’s popular Chalk Paint because there is nothing quite like it on the market – it is versatile, adheres to just about anything, and can totally transform ordinary furniture into magical pieces!Annie Sloan developed her now famous Chalk Paint to answer the need she had for a paint which would have many uses from acting like limewash to looking like old painted furniture and that had a good range of colour that could be extended by the user. This paint is very easy to work with and allows people to be creative as one doesn’t get involved with the technicalities of preparation and it also allows you to change your mind without hassle. There are so many easy techniques you can achieve with Annie Sloan and Jonathan Marc Mendes will be on hand at The Homemakers Expo to show you all the tricks of the trade. Use one colour or layer colours, distress and apply waxes to create an old-world patina or use the Chalk Paint as wash-dilute with water so when you apply it, you can still see the wood grain underneath. You can also use it as an impasto (thickly), just leave the lid off to thicken. Very little black is used so the colours can be mixed with any combination. The possibilities truly are endless and the results speak for themselves! Homemakers Expo brings you top-notch exhibitors showcasing an array of beautiful products and expert insight all under one roof.
