Decorex Cape Town 2025: Celebrating the Cream of the City’s Design Talent
At a VIP event held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on the evening of Thursday, 5 June, attended by over 300 exhibitors, stakeholders, media, and trade guests, Decorex Cape Town announced the winners of its coveted 2025 show awards. Nine awards were presented across eight categories, decided by an independent panel of eight judges—industry leaders, educators, designers, and media personalities in their own right.
The winners received bespoke trophies upcycled from plastic waste and specially custom-made for the event by Nuun (@nuun_concept_space). These innovative awards were handed out by radio personality and MC for the evening, Africa Melane, alongside Decorex Africa’s Co-Executive Creative Directors Garreth van Niekerk and Alan Hayward.
Van Niekerk commented, “We’re thrilled to see the extremely high calibre of work at this year’s show, both in general and particularly among the winners, which highlights how the industry is flourishing—not only locally but increasingly on the global stage.”
