Here is what she had to say…

How would you describe your personal style?

I don’t have a particular style. I like to connect to the client and design a lifestyle for the client that connects to their soul and then I add my magic.

What qualities define your brand?

Our motto is to offer the best quality coupled with the best service and the best design possible.

What sets your brand apart in the industry at the moment?

We have a unique design style. We believe in working with great proportions and seeing a space as a whole and then adding the lifestyle design factor and our unique contemporary opulence to our designs. This certainly sets us apart of the rest of the market. We also manufacture every item ourselves to give that unique feel to our clients, so there is really only is one of a kind items in our clients’ houses.

What is the most recent purchase you’ve made for your home and why?

I recently bought a house and we are setting it up as a show house for clients, to showcase  the  JDV lifeststyle.

What one design element, trend or furniture item can you not live without. Why?

I don’t do trends, we set our own trends.

What design influence has had the greatest influence on your work and business?

I don’t follow anyone but if I must say, I love Kelly Hoppen. Her work is so beautiful – clean lines and the luxury factor is evident.

What has been one of the most challenging projects you have worked on?

We never have easy projects because we never do anything standard so the challenge factor always exists.

How would you describe the design industry in South Africa at present?

Design in South Africa is absolutely stunning. We as South Africans have a great talent for design and every individual has a unique style.

What exciting projects do you have planned within the next year?

We are working on a couple of high-end residential houses and hotels.

Have you achieved any significant awards?

Yes. Best décor stand 2018 at The Decorex.
