Founded by Louise Sweeney in 2009, LuLu Maison delivers uncompromising interior design services for both residential and commercial projects across South Africa and abroad. Their beautiful Cape Town studio is a breeding ground of artistic innovation. They create spaces that are functional, timeless, and oh-so inventive. Furthermore, they aim to work around the personality, tastes and passions of their clients. The results are often beautiful aesthetic and unique interiors.

Louise combines her love of fabrics, colour and texture with her passion for contemporary and period homes. Many of her ideas are inspired by the natural beauty of South Africa and the innate talents of its local craftspeople. These contrasting influences have helped her to design balanced, layered and interesting spaces, working with pattern and colour to achieve a look that is both natural, uncontrived and considered.

To Louise, successful interior design and implementation is a result of walking a close journey with her client and their brief, a solid understanding of the building and its surroundings, vigorous research, and a hands-on design approach married to individuality in every new assignment. Louise loves her husband, her two dogs, a really good bottle of bubbles, walks in the forest and a beach sunset – but not necessarily in that order.

The design studio is made up of four supremely talented and internationally experienced in-house designers. This team collaborates alongside skilful project managers, visionary architects, and highly respected craftsmen to produce interiors that impress the eye and senses.
