Plascon House Tour: A Victorian House
There is something enchanting about the Victorian age of ornate details and intricate architecture that has a beautiful sculptural quality. A soft palette of pastels and white bring glamour to this delicate Victorian house with original hardware and vintage features with high ceilings and decorative ornate cornices.
The colour palette is soothing and does not detract from the beauty of the finishes in this period home. The ceiling, for example, is striking with gorgeous decorations enhanced in white with a traditional chandelier which takes pride of place here. The soft lilac drapes work wonderfully in this space, creating a light, airy and traditional look that is timeless. Even the choice of furniture, with an ornate corner cabinet in white, adds to the overall look of this Victorian home. And we simply love the choice of a round mirror above the mantel, for added interest in this space. A second fire place in this home is also enhanced by beautiful pastel and white shades that fill the room. Here, it is all about the styling as designers have successfully grouped interesting decor and collectables on the side server and mantel to add charm to this interesting space. The lace details in the bedroom are simply stunning and add to the Victorian style of this home. With a few modern twists, the owners have selected a range of fun fabrics for the scatters and headboard, and the bedroom also features a quirky geometric-styled lampshade in complementary tones. And to complete the vintage style of this home, a powder room, complete with dresser and mirror, adds a touch of glam here. The children’s bedroom has a more quirky and bright look with colourful curtains, a mint toddler bed and beautiful artwork above yet another Victorian fireplace.
