Plascon House Tour: The Sultry, Dark Shades of a Swedish apartment
In a design era where the common trend is to create spacious, light and livable spaces, this unconventional Swedish apartment seems be going in the opposite direction. The dark, sultry shades of this mystical interior feel moody and dramatic. A mix of textures and fabrics give a layered depth to the senses!
We’re big fans of beautiful charcoal walls and darkened interiors to suit the mood. This home, however, overpowers with its monochromatic palette and a lack of brights to add some sort of contrast in this space. A sea of grey takes us from the living room to the staircase which then leads to the bedrooms upstairs. Beautifully textured pieces add depth here – with fur throws, an array of textured scatters and earthy pots add to the mix of materials used in this space. The dining room is possibly our favourite room in this home. Juxtaposed against a lighter kitchen area (thankfully), the dining room feels warm and alive in darker shades, a vintage wooden table, and an array of chairs donned in beautiful fur coverings. We also love the use of oversized globe pendants above the table, along with an arrangement of stylish prints on the gallery wall overhead. It’s all about drama in the bedroom, in keeping with the dramatic shades of grey that fill this entire apartment. What do you think? Could you live in a home like this, in monochromatic, darker shades? Contact: Plascon Via
