Plascon House Tour: Spanish Barn Living
The essence of this Spanish hayloft remains intact even though it underwent extensive renovation to transform into the majestic creation we see before us. The stone walls and arched windows hint at its past life but the beautiful interior styling brings this abode into the 21st Century.
The arched window in the living room is a breathtaking feature – connecting the interior of this home to the natural Spanish landscape outdoors. A door at the base of this window is ideal – an exit point to the beautiful green gardens beyond the walls.
Extra-length curtains add a touch of softness to this space. And we love the wheel-barrow upcycle into a stylish vintage coffee table in this room.
The stone walls are equally beautiful and complement the vintage fixtures and rustic styling of this open plan space. Industrial style pendants add to the style and we love that the kitchen too is connected to the outdoors, and receives ample natural lighting from the adjacent windows and doors.
The detailing of the stone walls is striking and a welcome addition to the bedrooms, at the far end of the home. Here white wooden shutters add to the style of the rooms. The master suite feels bright and airy with beautiful shades of peach and blue that add a vibrancy to this space. A built-in window ledge acts as the ideal storage space for florals and accent decor.
The bathroom is beautifully natural, thanks to the mix of wood, stone and rustic elements that work well in this space. Two simple glass pendants are stylish and simple here while a vintage wooden dresser adds character to this intimate space.
The old chicken coop was converted into a decadent outdoor dining area, complete with covered patio and the perfect outdoor table for entertaining guests. Wicker chairs are incorporated into the space and a touch of colour adds zest here in an array of potted plants and florals.
