Plascon House Tour: Miami- Style Tropical Living
This airy home boasts fresh bursts of colour, flamingos in the garden and a lovely open plan layout that is ideal for summer.
We love the urban style of this home with a wonderful flow created between the indoor and outdoor spaces. The kitchen is filled with light and we love the refreshing mint tones used in this room. A bold marble island in the centre of the classic Smallbone kitchen was made so that each long side is parallel with its exterior wall – making a subtler mini trapezium. At the other end of this space lies a beautifully appointed open plan dining area, connecting the kitchen to the rest of the home and the outside entertainment areas.
Glass doors frame the open plan living space and leads to a lush green garden with colourful flamingo decor. Outdoor seating boasts a beautiful leaf print fabric and helps to create an added indoor-outdoor room for entertaining guests. It is a little tropical slice of paradise.
The garden is cleverly designed in receding sections – decking, seating, hedge, lawn and a raised bed – which creates the illusion of depth, as if it fades into the distance. The white concrete retaining wall has been customised into a tropical bench.
Take reading in the bathroom to a whole new level! Here the financial times has been plastered onto the walls of this guest loo. A black feature wall with mirror and lighting completes this quirky space. We love the addition of fresh florals that give this space added flair.
The living room is a breath of fresh air with modern art and beautifully bright pops of colour. A pink ottoman and bold red occasional chairs are just some of the colourful pieces that bring this room a Miami-inspired ambience.
