Plascon House Tour: Embracing Winter At Home
Today’s stunning North American home is filled with gorgeous neutrals and cool, calming tones that are ideal for the change of season. As the Northern hemisphere begins to usher in the cooler months, the trend shifts from bright colours to muted tones and warm, inviting interiors.
In the living room, a striking fireplace is a beautiful focal point – in a bold concrete finish that stands out against the white wooden interior walls. Decorative touches add warmth to this space with open shelving, warm timber flooring and soft furnishings that add to the comfort level of this room. Contemporary seating with metal and fabric finishes adds definition while a striking area rug pulls the look together and brings a wonderful aesthetic quality to this space.
The real winner here is most certainly the fireplace – a must-have item in preparation for winter! The use of a textural concrete finish adds depth, tone and richness to this room. Hints of grey, white and wooden tones infiltrate this space, creating a calming environment that is perfect for family living.
Patterns and prints add a creative flair, regardless of the neutral palette with white, darker shades of blue and hints of gold and wood. A framed leaf print hints at the approaching autumn months ahead while a mix of scatters and throws add dimension with stripes and pattern. A gold table lamp brings a hint of glamour to this space and helps to create a contemporary feel here.
The family-style kitchen area is simply magnificent with an oversized kitchen island that easily seats seven! Bold black cabinets and striking wooden barstools are modern and elegant and we love that the space is light-filled and open- plan, connecting to the exterior through glass doors and easily inviting guests in to dine here. Wooden flooring creates symmetry throughout this home and we love the urban, natural and neutral vibe created throughout.
