Mamie Megève
A hotel of a different kind, Mamie Megève is all about affordable off-piste luxury.
Situated in the pretty town of Megève, France, and overlooking the Mont Blanc massif, Mamie Megève offers guests a warm, colourful embrace in the old tradition. Here, hospitality harks back to yesteryear with convivial spaces made for sharing.
The quirky family chalet offers 60 rooms and several public spaces with a decidedly retro vibe, from lamps with fringed floral shades and shag-style rugs to tartan wallpaper and corridors, which look like a games room with arcade terminals.
“An ideal place for mountain lovers looking for nostalgic memories, it is aimed at a young, budget-conscious clientele,” explains the hotel’s team.
“Mamie Megève awakens a deep sense of belonging and comfort, making every visitor a member of the Mamie family.”
Each of the rooms can accommodate up to four guests and feature a colourful selection of decor and antiques. Many of the rooms also feature balconies overlooking the slopes.
In terms of public spaces, the Vestibule is where it all happens at Mamie Megève. The living space is open from 7am to 11pm for generous breakfasts, small plates, sweet treats and snacks throughout the day and delicious dinners consisting of classics such as vegetable velouté, pâté de campagne or diots aux lentilles in the evenings.
Mamie Megève’s friendly staff is also on hand most of the day to help guests with ski passes and organise ski equipment and lessons. Plus, there’s a shuttle to the village, ski area or nearby restaurant Jean every 30 minutes.
“Loving and sharing, that’s Mamie’s philosophy! And it’s what guided the creation of Mamie Megève’s retro chic and resolutely offbeat home. A chalet in her image, where it’s great to stay all year round as a couple, with family or colleagues, with all those you love. So come whenever you like! Mamie looks forward to welcoming you!
