Aurum has been described as a project that redefines the concept of limited edition living. Indeed, the continent has yet to see a development of this calibre. So timeless in style, so future forward in spirit, so uncompromising on quality, Aurum confidently competes with the very best New York, Dubai and London has to offer.
We chatted to Tashi Krost Interiors about their involvement in the interior design of Aurum Apartments and how this phenomenal project took shape…
With over 8 years’ experience in designing distinguishing homes, Tashi Krost Interiors provides world-class expertise in translating tastes and lifestyle into a perfect space. This couldn’t be more evident as it is in these exclusive Sea Point residences…
Named Aurum – meaning “Shining Dawn” in Latin, and “Au” which is the symbol for gold – the very name alludes toward a sense of glamour that has gone into each of the apartments. Developers have described these residences as extremely exclusive, super-luxury works of art with exquisite finishes that are rarely seen in South Africa.
It becomes evident that these apartments have been designed with elegance and refined sophistication in mind.
What made the project interesting?
Tashi Krost Interiors: “We had to make a 180 sq.m apartment feel like a spacious beach house. Despite the small space, the client still wanted the comforts they were used to – such as a large dining room table fit for entertaining in a small area. We also had to find a good balance between what can often turn out as a stark, passe beach theme, while keeping it homely and warm.”
With immaculate 360 degree views of the surroundings, the design team were sure in for a challenge. They needed to consider every aspect of the interior to make the most of the available space and offer exclusive luxury in every detail.
“We didn’t do it alone. We recruited SA’s photography and stylist experts, Sanri Pienaar and Sarah De Pina, to assist us with taking it from ‘wow’ to ‘holy cow!'”
Tashi Krost Interior’s mission is simple: create environments that are distinctive, compelling and invite conversation.
