Purespace Design Solutions
Offering full-service interior design solutions, Purespace Design is dedicated to creating well-designed, eco-friendly interiors that elevate each client’s well-being.
As part of the company’s commitment to sustainability, Purespace Design has partnered with Naturelle Beds, a premium producer of organic beds made of pure, locally produced Merino wool and organic latex.
“Since we spend almost a third of a day sleeping, the mattress that we sleep on must be not only well-made but also beneficial to our health,” says Purespace Design. “Well-made hugely depends on the materials used in the mattress. A Naturelle mattress is made of 100% certified organic latex and pure wool, with no fossil fuels having been used in the mattress’s contents, either virgin or recycled.”
Natural latex is an inherently fire-resistant material due to its high water content and molecular structure. Wool is also naturally flame retardant and an excellent regulator of temperature. Furthermore, the fabric used on the mattresses is certified natural.
“Naturelle Beds uses latex that carries the GOLS Standard (Global Organic Latex Standard). Our headboards, in addition, are manufactured using the same specification of latex, Spruce Ply for the backing boards instead of chipboard and wool instead of Dacron, with hemp fabric as an option.
“Our upholstered beds are manufactured using the same materials as our headboards and can be custom-made. In addition, our sheets and pillowcases are manufactured from linen, while our pillow inners are made from certified organic latex with wool outer covers.”
Moving from the bedroom, Purespace Design also focuses on sustainable solutions for the rest of the home, including flooring. As such, the studio specifies BOEN-engineered flooring for all their wall cladding and flooring.
“BOEN is a pre-finished engineered plank made up of two-layer, three-layer and solid parquet,” explains Purespace Design. “The multi-layer parquet consists of a thin hardwood top layer and a thicker base layer of mostly natural-grown birch, spruce, fir, pine wood or HDF panels. BOEN uses bonding and only 120 grams of adhesive per square metre of product, and for surface treatment, an average of only 75 grams of lacquer or oil is used. This means that, depending on the specific product and its density, the parquet contains around 98% wood. This makes it the most ecologically sustainable type of flooring on the market. Another advantage of parquet is its longevity and suitability for repairs. Re-oiling it, sanding it or replacing its damaged components makes it possible to easily exceed its official service life of at least 25 years,” explains the company.
With a focus on client health, Purespace Design aims to be as creative and sustainable as possible in its designs, designing products and partnering with suppliers that share the same vision.
